  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is required, although an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Serve and advise international students on personal, financial, academic, immigration, health insurance and health care, travel, tax, scholarship, grant, and loan matters.
  • Assist with the department's on-call emergency response system.
  • Maintain international student records and databases, process admissions-related matters, and complete advising-related administrative tasks, including preparing memos, researching and preparing reports, estimating expenses, and preparing federal documents and applications.
  • Assist with planning and implementing student programming activities, including new student check-in and orientations, seminars, special-topic workshops, and joint programming with campus or community entities.
  • Serve as a leader in a work team focused on a specialized office area, such as student programming, immigration advising, health insurance, publications, admissions, or financial aid.
  • Occasionally serve as the office representative in areas of expertise.
  • Advise international student organizations.
  • Occasionally supervise student workers on a project-related basis.
  • Oversee administrative tasks related to international education opportunities, including creating program budgets, assisting with travel arrangements, handling applications, scholarships, service hours, and orienting and debriefing students and faculty.
  • Serve as a member of a team focused on scholarship administration, recruitment, database management, internships, and financial aid.
  • Coordinate student pre-departure programs, seminars, special-topic workshops, and joint programming with campus or community entities.
  • Serve as a Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Alternate Responsible Officer and Designated School Official.
  • Maintain I-20 records for enrolled students and provide general immigration advising regarding travel signatures, maintaining status information, and reporting requirements.
  • Serve as a passport agent.
  • Coordinate the office's mentor groups, including SAGA and ISMP.
  • Provide advanced advising for incoming exchange students on personal, academic, health insurance and health care, travel, and cultural matters.
  • Assist with document record maintenance using International Student and Scholar Management (ISSM) or other software.
  • Provide backup administrative support and maintain office schedules and appointments.
  • Participate in recruitment events, fairs, and on-site international and study-abroad recruitment.
  • Assist with marketing and social media campaigns.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with higher education degree requirements is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Banner, transfer articulation, and Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) is preferred.
