Experience with healthcare data, its standards, and its complex data integration

Responsibilities

Build, maintain, and govern all aspects of a performant data platform including, but not limited to data pipelines using Apache Spark or other technologies as appropriate
Design and implement software on top of the data platform to aid in its use
Help us migrate our existing data platform to a new cloud platform
Standardize clinical data with Healthcare interoperability standards like HL7 FHIR and standard vocabularies such as ICD, LOINC, MedRA, CTCAE
Help with the design and implementation of scalable data warehousing and BI solutions
Build scalable services to enable access to data for Data Science and other engineering teams

You are an experienced software engineer with strong data and data platform engineering capabilities. You have experience with current data platform tools, but more importantly you are able to switch gears and choose the right approach for the job at hand. At your core, you are a strong backend engineer, who has narrowed your focus towards managing the data aspects of enterprise backend systems. You know ways to enable rapid application development and integration with external customers and 3rd parties. Collaborating with other team members is a large part of your workflow and you are comfortable being flexible in a startup environment because it allows you to learn and grow.

High quality data is at the core of Project Ronin’s mission to change the way cancer is treated. In this role you will be part of the team that ensures performant, reliable data is always available for all of Ronin’s Application, Data Science and Clinical Intelligence teams. You will have the opportunity to define how to best design these pipelines and tools for rapid scaling across a multitude of health systems while never sacrificing data reliability.

You will be working with a group of senior engineers, many of whom possess a deep healthcare background across emergent startups and leading EMRs. We are passionate about everything described above and especially about how our team can contribute to Ronin’s broader mission through the data we ingest, normalize, and operationalize for our teams.

Here’s what you will do day to day:

The base salary for this role is $180-220k annually with an equity component. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise & may vary from the amount above.
