Requirements
  • 7+ years experience between a top-tier law firm and in-house legal department focused on litigation matters; exposure to insurance and insurance defense is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or certification from an ABA-approved paralegal program preferred
  • Familiarity with general litigation practice, procedures, rules, and workflow
  • Familiarity with matter management, e-discovery and billing tools, and GSuite
  • Outstanding project management, organizational, and fact-finding skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of matters, work efficiently and proactively, take initiative, prioritize, and meet demanding deadlines
  • Emphasis on continuous process improvement
  • Must be an independent and strategic problem solver who is a strong teammate (no job is too small or too large) and willing to take on additional responsibilities

Responsibilities
  • Support internal and external counsel through all stages of claims and disputes
  • Draft basic litigation documents and templates, including discovery responses, settlement agreements, document retention notices, protective orders, response letters, subpoena responses, and litigation disclosures
  • Assist with research and investigation for factual and strategic development of the Company’s legal position
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners on document retention, collection and review, confidentiality and privilege analyses, and other information management
  • Responsibility for matter management systems including calendaring and updating of deadlines, tracking claims and active matters, coordination of schedules and work streams, and regular reporting to cross-functional partners
  • Partner with internal and external insurance partners with respect to reporting of insured incidents, oversight of insured claims processes, and cost recovery
