Requirements
  • A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse is required.
  • Telemetry or electrocardiogram monitoring experience is required.
  • A Bachelor of Nursing degree is preferred; registered nurse staff hired with an associate or diploma degree in nursing must enroll in an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing program within two years and obtain the degree within four years of hire or reclassification.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification is required from the American Heart Association or an American Red Cross equivalent.
  • The role requires the ability to perform the listed physical functions, including standing, sitting, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, exerting up to 50 pounds of force, and performing frequent or continuous fine and gross motor activities.
  • The role requires the ability to work rotating shifts, overtime as required, indoors and occasionally outdoors in temperature extremes, in confined spaces, and in a latex-safe environment.
  • The role requires the ability to deal effectively with stressful situations and maintain the specified vision, hearing, tactile, and other sensory functions.
Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care for a broad patient population within the nursing scope of practice.
  • Ensure that patients and family members understand the procedure and plan of care.
  • Assist with procedure-room preparation.
  • Maintain sterile technique.
  • Administer conscious sedation and other drugs as needed.
  • Monitor patient patterns and vital signs throughout procedures.
  • Oversee the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after procedures.
  • Apply working knowledge and experience in a high-volume procedural environment.
  • Deliver safe and effective individualized, goal-directed patient care using the principles and practices of the nursing process.
  • Interact with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired results.
Desired Qualifications
  • Emergency, procedural, or intensive care unit experience is strongly preferred.
