Requirements
  • A licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 12+ years of related experience.
  • Experience working with water and wastewater treatment facilities and related projects including water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, sewer or combined sewer overflow, collection and conveyance systems, distribution and transmission systems, storm water, hydrologic and hydraulic models and/or other water resource projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of water and wastewater treatment facilities is a must.
  • Experience developing detailed design plans for treatment projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical planning, biological process and mechanical design and construction support on various water and wastewater treatment and resource recovery projects, including projects that may involve combined sewer overflow, collection systems, pump stations, stormwater, hydrologic and hydraulic models, and other water and wastewater projects.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, run process models (e.g., Excel spreadsheets, Biowin, GPS-X, etc.) and support analysis of alternatives; use technical writing to prepare memoranda documenting analyses, basis of design, business case evaluations, P&ID reports, etc.
  • Prepare design reports and construction plans for treatment plants and pump stations using local and state standards.
  • Prepare or assist with specifications and permit submittals.
  • Assist with or review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks; monitor task budget and progress.
  • Document design changes and communications.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and provide technical guidance for start-up as needed.
  • Prepare project status and other reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals.
  • Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills; maintain excellent client relations; maintain a safe working environment.
  • Publish and present papers at state and national conferences; serve as an active member in the Wade Trim Water and Wastewater Treatment Practice.
