Requirements
  • Experience in a regulatory, compliance, or enforcement environment.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to read, write legibly, understand, and speak English.
  • Must be able to work around horses.
  • Punctual attendance is required.
  • Ability to work required overtime.
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

  • High school graduate or GED required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English; written English communication skills may also be required.
  • Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for the majority of the shift, frequently reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Must have close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
  • Must regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, climb, push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance in varying work areas, including confined spaces.
Responsibilities
  • Process all claims by verifying that claim forms are properly completed, confirming sufficient funds for claims plus tax with the Horsemen’s Bookkeeper, and confirming that all entities are properly licensed with the Licensing Office.
  • Process the claim after the race by informing the Stewards who received the claimed horse.
  • Contact the person at the holding enclosure and provide all information on the trainer.
  • During morning entry hours, take entries in person or by telephone, process all entries taken, and investigate horses placed on lists.
  • Maintain an attitude and philosophy consistent with the company’s Core Values and Standards of Behavior with internal and external guests.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
