Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 9 years of experience in a field service and/or maintenance position)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a field service and/or maintenance position
  • This role will require a US security clearance and a prerequisite for a security clearance is US citizenship. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform functional, operational, fault analysis, and repair of avionics system components (SCNS; SCNS-related) and associated support equipment such as Navigation System Test Set (NSTTS) and Mission Data Ground Terminal (MDGT).
  • Utilize common and unique test equipment and tools to perform fault analysis and interim level repair of SCNS-related components.
  • Manage all logistics of parts shipments throughout area of responsibility while maintaining a high degree of flexibility to meet the constantly changing logistics requirements and demands for assigned customers.
  • Develop, conduct, and maintain informal training, formal presentations, and training products at customer request in system theory, aircraft system maintenance methods and procedures, system operational characteristics and functions, and logistical supply aspects.
  • Review reported malfunctions and assist with fault analysis.
  • Provide customer with technical operation and maintenance repair assistance related to integrated aircraft avionics systems and support equipment via telephone communications, email, and onsite support.
  • Review effectiveness of maintenance actions to identify training needs and improve maintenance practices.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and effectively train and provide technical guidance to other Field Service Representatives.
  • Apply analytical tools to assist the customer with root cause analysis, issue resolution, and trend analysis.
  • Use GE Aerospace and United States Air Force (USAF) communication methods to submit reports and forms in support of contractual requirements and group directives.
  • Develop and utilize asset tracking systems (logs or databases) to ensure accountability and custodianship of GE Aerospace and customer assets.
  • Anticipate requirements beyond those that immediately affect the program and assist in implementing actions to satisfy those requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between customer and factory personnel related to maintenance, logistical, and operational tasks.
  • Travel approximately 25%
Desired Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in field support, maintenance, modification, and/or repair of the C-130H SCNS system or a related/similar military platform
  • Strong customer interaction and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proven analytical and quality improvement ability
  • Ability to present to all levels of Maintenance, Engineering, and Management
  • Familiarity with Air Force Technical Orders
  • Knowledge of the learning process and how to transfer technical knowledge to less experienced personnel
  • Ability to work independently
  • Possess a high degree of tact, diplomacy, and ability to work and cooperate harmoniously with customer personnel
