Requirements
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) test and two years of accredited college or university education in engineering.
  • Six years of relevant experience, including two years at the Engineering Technician II level.
  • Six or more years of Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry experience supporting CAD system operations and deployments, Building Information Modeling (BIM) applications, digital design deliverables, CAD file management, infrastructure data, 3D modeling designs, and/or CAD workflows and processes.
  • Experience with Bentley Systems, ProjectWise, MicroStation, Microsoft SharePoint, Bluebeam Revu, and the production process for design drawings.
  • Proof of completion of two years of accredited college or university education in engineering before interviews.
  • A valid California Class C driver's license or equivalent at the time of application, allowing driving during employment.
  • Work authorization in the United States that does not now or in the future require employment-visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Project As-Built Coordinator by managing the process of converting construction changes and field documentation into final record drawings and permanent engineering records.
  • Work with project teams, contractors, inspectors, and document control staff to verify that field changes and construction documentation are incorporated accurately into final engineering records and transferred to document and asset information systems.
  • Track deliverables, resolve missing or conflicting data, maintain digital drawing content files, and ensure project records meet engineering, drafting, contractual, and organizational standards.
  • Manage the process from construction completion through final approval.
  • Maintain the Microsoft SharePoint As-Built Dashboard.
  • Verify that the official construction drawing set, including field markups, is digitally scanned and stored in the appropriate ProjectWise database construction-phase project folder.
  • Serve as project CAD Coordinator during the as-built phase.
  • Establish and maintain charge numbers, task codes, drawing indexes, drawing counts, discipline-specific PDF markup sets, and as-built revision tracking logs.
  • Request and verify the latest revision numbers, record them in the project tracking log, and maintain project completion dates and responsible personnel on the Microsoft SharePoint as-built dashboard.
  • Coordinate with the Design Technology Team to move the ProjectWise project folder from Active Projects to the As-Built Work-in-Progress area and confirm the transfer.
  • Request that the Design Manager schedule an as-built kickoff meeting to align project team objectives and expectations.
  • Communicate regularly with project stakeholders, provide routine status reports to Project and Design Managers, and secure written confirmations when required reviews are complete.
  • Collect as-built information.
  • Track as-built deliverables.
  • Review marked-up construction drawings.
  • Identify missing or conflicting information.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Design Manager, and engineering reviewers.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines and CAD/BIM production staff.
  • Maintain drawing indexes and revision information.
  • Coordinate development of record drawings.
  • Maintain supporting digital project content.
  • Manage information within document-management systems.
  • Prepare final renditions of completed drawings.
  • Support Capital Improvement Project teams with design drawing production, 3D modeling, CAD file management, CAD workflows, and CAD processes.
