Requirements
  • Master’s Degree in Library/Information Studies with a focus in Archival Studies from a recognized graduate program (e.g., University of Maryland, University of Texas–Austin, etc.)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional archival experience.
  • Proficiency in basic document preservation methods.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing finding aids and processing archival accessions.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply government policy and regulations.
  • Physical ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience working in a federal archives, library, or records management program.
  • Familiarity with federal records schedules, metadata standards, and archival best practices.
  • Knowledge of digital preservation and electronic records management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a structured government environment.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial processing of records, accessions, and donations.
  • Develop finding aids and tools to enhance access to record collections.
  • Strengthen intellectual control over record collections through arrangement and description.
  • Perform basic document preservation to ensure the long-term viability of archival materials.
  • Interpret and apply government policies, regulations, and directives as directed by the client.
  • Prepare written reports, documentation, and other archival program deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and executive-level personnel.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and related software for documentation and reporting.
