What does a Production Manager, Graphic Production do at Hogarth?
We are looking for a Graphic Production Manager who is dedicated to the flawless execution and implementation of visual assets applied to the client’s web properties and direct marketing materials. Our mission is to uphold the creative vision and technical requirements of the Interactive Design and Development teams with the same high standards the clients brand is known for.
The Graphic Production Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of their Graphic Production studio, in collaboration with the Head of Graphic Production Services. This includes but is not limited to managing the Graphic Production artists and Team Leads as well as developing and improving process, workflow automation, training/education, goal-setting and career development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages a team of 20-30 people
- Manages client partner relationships - key project escalation for their studio
- Responsible for planning team assignments, and communicating project goals, schedules, deadlines, and other information to the project team members, and internal/external stakeholders
- Establishes project schedules, resources and project staffing. Maintains these and other supporting documents to track and report on project’s status and overall progress/completion
- Proactively identifies project risks and develops mitigation plans to address them
- Liaison between departments to communicate GP standards and process
- Collaborates with Head of Graphic Production Services to establish studio strategy, goals and expectations, define resource needs, determine process improvements, and implement change
- Manages team process, workflows, and optimization to ensure deliverables meet Hogarth’s and the client’s quality standards
- Guides individual Team Leads and Graphic Production Artists’ overall professional development, providing performance feedback, mentoring, assist with resolving performance issues and maintaining positive morale amongst the team
- Evaluate and learn individual artist strengths; help develop cross utilization of resources to promote an effective workflow
- Oversees documentation and training
- Responsible for mentoring and career development of all staff within their GP vertical.
- Lead by example and participate in culture development and management
- Work with automation engineer to define and build tools for workflow automations and process improvements for all outputs
- Acts independently and proactively to problem-solve and identify risk areas in all aspects of internal and vendor production and recommends course adjustments as necessary
Requirements
- 8+ years experience in a hands-on, high-volume interactive web production environment (or equivalent), of which 3-5 years was in a senior role that included managing teams of various skill-sets and outputs
- Proven success in overseeing multiple projects and deliverables, with tight deadlines and wider cross-functional dependancies
- Ability to problem-solve, track priorities and multi-task efficiently within a fast-paced creative environment which requires constant adaptability and flexibility
- Deep understanding of web-production workflow, best practices as it relates to design, dev, QA, GEO localization and transcreation
- Proficient in all up-to-date graphics applications (Adobe Suite, etc.), design, typography and art-working sensibilities
- Solid understanding of HTML, Javascript, CSS, Sketch, and GiT
- Keeps up-to-date with the latest market and software trends as it relates to graphic production
- Excellent project management, time management, written and verbal communication skills with experience employing Agile and Waterfall project management techniques
- Self-directed, detail oriented, problem solver, with a sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure.
- Able to balance assertiveness and sensitivity, diplomacy and patience, while promoting communication and teamwork
- Comfortable working behind the scenes, and independently without supervision
- Impeccable eye for detail, strong production values, creative ingenuity with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Undertake production activities in support product launches and other marketing programs, when necessary
- Ability to learn new software as needs arise.
- Active member of Hogarth California leadership team
- Partners with Senior Management, Operations and HR to establish and communicate company strategy and policy
The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
