Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Create new operating systems for expansion of UBC 23 24 to new learner groups
  • Assist in forecasting systems and operational upgrades needed for the expansion of the program
  • Maintain, make changes and ensure full functionality of Learning Management System (LMS) which houses our curriculum
  • Supports learners with issues accessing online modules
  • Runs moderator trainings and create supporting educational materials
  • Assist in the recruitment, vetting and coordination of facilitators
  • Assist with managing budgets related to the program
  • Draft briefing notes, proposals and status reports on various project components as needed
  • Responsible for operating project management software and spreadsheets
  • Responsible for helping manage timelines and deliverables associated with various projects and their planning
  • Participate in strategic planning activities as needed
  • Liaise with UBC units to ensure compliance with copyright and UBC policies
  • Collaborate with Curriculum and Facilitation Coordinator to create promotional materials, social media content and updates the UBC 23 24 website
  • Run moderator trainings and create supporting training materials
  • Maintain and update the UBC 23 24 operations manual
  • Provides general administrative support as necessary
  • Support in the coordination of community engagement and collaboration meetings
  • Coordinate and help maintain various advisories and working groups that will support the expansion of the curriculum
  • Supports the expansion and maintenance of the facilitator network
  • Assist in coordinating feedback collection and compiling reports
  • Assist in coordinating community engagement and events related to evaluation and collation of findings
  • Support UBC 23 24 in coordinating various components of affiliated research projects as needed
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in the fields of Indigenous health, Indigenous studies, Indigenous Cultural Safety or a related field and have at least 2-years of related work experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience, knowledge and interest working with Indigenous people and communities, following protocols for engagement and building relationships
  • Ability to be tactful and respectful during cross cultural dialogues regarding race, privilege and inequity
  • Experience contributing to or developing educational programming such as curriculum and workshops
  • Experience facilitating and/or presenting
  • Highly organized and ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Experience managing and creating operational tracking systems
  • Experience processing invoices and keeping track of budgets
  • Ability to effectively use the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and WordPress at an intermediate to advanced level
  • Highly attentive to detail and have strong critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills
  • Indigenous research experience
  • Adept at navigating social media and updating web-based platforms
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Working independently and as part of a team, exercising a high level of tact and diplomacy and navigating interpersonal challenges in a good way with support of leadership are valued assets
  • Be a team player with willingness to hear and integrate feedback from leadership
