Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and FINRA Series 7 and 63 are required.
  • 10 to 15+ years of investment industry experience, including significant exchange-traded fund distribution responsibility, is required.
  • A proven record of raising exchange-traded fund assets across registered investment adviser, intermediary, model portfolio, strategist, and institutional channels is required.
  • Deep understanding of exchange-traded fund structure, capital markets, trading, portfolio implementation, and strategy positioning is required.
  • Established relationships with registered investment advisers, aggregators, exchange-traded fund strategists, consultants, model providers, and professional allocators are required.
  • Experience partnering with product, capital markets, marketing, investment, and executive leadership teams is required.
  • The ability to travel up to 75% of the time is required.
  • Frequent attendance at client meetings, conferences, home office presentations, and industry events is required.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses are required.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives designed to increase exchange-traded fund adoption across professional buyer channels.
  • Cultivate and expand relationships with enterprise registered investment advisers, registered investment adviser aggregators, model portfolio managers, exchange-traded fund strategists, bank trust departments, family offices, and institutional consultants.
  • Identify and pursue new sources of asset growth for existing and future exchange-traded fund offerings.
  • Serve as a senior representative of the exchange-traded fund franchise at client meetings, conferences, industry events, and thought leadership forums.
  • Establish and maintain senior-level relationships with key decision makers across intermediary and institutional channels.
  • Collaborate with wholesalers and affiliate distribution teams to support exchange-traded fund-specific sales opportunities nationwide.
  • Create tailored business development strategies designed to deepen wallet share and strengthen strategic partnerships.
  • Leverage market intelligence and competitive insights to identify evolving client needs and emerging opportunities.
  • Partner with exchange-traded fund product management, capital markets, and investment teams to support product launches, positioning strategies, and commercialization efforts.
  • Deliver marketplace feedback regarding investor demand, competitive dynamics, product construction, and distribution trends.
  • Contribute insights regarding future exchange-traded fund opportunities across active, systematic, fixed income, equity, and alternative investment categories.
  • Serve as an internal resource on exchange-traded fund industry developments, portfolio implementation trends, model delivery platforms, and advisor adoption patterns.
  • Maintain deep expertise in exchange-traded fund structure, portfolio construction applications, implementation strategies, trading considerations, and industry best practices.
  • Deliver educational presentations to clients, advisors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop content supporting advisor engagement, training initiatives, and sales enablement efforts.
  • Represent the company as an exchange-traded fund thought leader in the marketplace.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Capital Markets, Product, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Marketing teams.
  • Mentor junior sales professionals and contribute to the development of distribution best practices.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives and sales process enhancements across the exchange-traded fund business.
Desired Qualifications
  • An MBA, Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, or similar designation is preferred.

Virtus AUM drops to $159B amid quality equity outflows, expands into private markets with Keystone and Crescent Cove deals

Virtus Investment Partners reported fourth quarter assets under management of $159 billion, down from $169 billion, due to net outflows of $8.1 billion and market performance. The outflows were almost entirely driven by quality-oriented equity strategies, which represent half of AUM but have underperformed amid market preference for momentum-driven stocks. Total sales reached $5.3 billion compared with $6.3 billion in the third quarter. The operating margin declined to 32.4% from 33%, whilst earnings per share fell to $6.50 from $6.69. The company is expanding into private markets with a pending acquisition of a 56% stake in Keystone National Group, a private credit manager with $2.5 billion in assets, and a 35% investment in Crescent Cove, a venture growth manager with over $1 billion in AUM.
