Requirements
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to obtain company supervisory authorisations on the aircraft type being worked on, independent inspections, and fulfil individual tasks within the scope of authorisation.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical documents, drawings, and associated publications.
  • Working knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles, MAA Regulatory Publication Part 145, aviation Quality Assurance, and Safety Management System requirements and their application.
  • Ability to distribute and sequence technical work requirements, control demanding workloads, deliver to a high standard, and maintain schedule.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure established process adherence, accurate and timely work recording, and contractual and regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise, plan, sequence, distribute, and control technical work for a small group of aircraft technicians.
  • Provide direct control, oversight, mentoring, leadership, direction, and guidance to technicians during maintenance activities.
  • Ensure standards and certification of associated aircraft paperwork completed by the team comply with company procedures.
  • Deliver aircraft maintenance under Boeing’s own MAA MRP Part 145 approval or under the approval of the MOD customer.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and modify systems, including changing, removing, replacing, and upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting of complex aircraft systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical/electronic systems, to isolate faults and repair faulty components using authorised maintenance documents.
  • Work flexibly across locations and times to ensure aircraft are delivered on time to the customer.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and mentoring to peers and others appropriate to the role.
  • Exercise the role under appropriate supervision when required.
  • Mitigate immediate risks, including stopping work, and escalate emerging risks, issues, and shortfalls in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement workshops and projects as required.
  • Provide 100% oversight of work carried out by Boeing apprentices or trainees when directed, including apprentice and trainee mentoring.
  • Contribute positively to an open and honest reporting culture.
  • Obtain or apply for a second signature on type within the first three months in the role.
Desired Qualifications
  • A recognised relevant trade apprenticeship or equivalent trade experience.
  • Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance and aviation processes, including Human Factors, foreign object debris control, tool control, health and safety, and COSHH.
  • Experience in either commercial or defence aviation.
  • Proficiency with computers and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work effectively within an inclusive team culture.

Boeing cuts operating loss by half as it delivers 171 planes in Q2 2026

Boeing shares trade at $208.87, down 12% over the past year, as the company continues to lose money building aeroplanes. However, the rate of loss is shrinking rapidly. Operating margin improved to negative 5.4% over the past twelve months, up from negative 12.4% a year earlier. The second quarter of 2026 turned positive at 0.6%. Boeing delivered 171 aeroplanes in that quarter, its highest total since 2018. The commercial aeroplane unit showed a negative 2.7% operating margin in Q2 2026. Programme cash margins on the 737 and 787 run slightly above breakeven, with management attributing this to pricing drags that dissipate as deliveries continue. Management expects to ramp 737 production to 52 aeroplanes per month, with no supply-chain constraints anticipated. The Air Force One programme took a $280 million charge in Q2 2026.

Boeing upgraded to Buy by Argus on Q2 cash flow turnaround and $715B backlog

Argus upgraded Boeing from Hold to Buy on 11 August, citing the company's long-term prospects in commercial aerospace. Boeing secures $3B revolving credit facility, extends $7B in existing agreements to 2029-2030

Boeing has secured a new $3 billion, 364-day revolving credit facility, replacing an expiring agreement of the same size. The facility, arranged by Citibank and JPMorgan Chase Bank, runs until 23 August 2027, with options to convert borrowings into term loans or extend for another year. The agreement requires Boeing to maintain minimum liquidity of $5 billion and limits consolidated debt to 60% of total capital.
