Requirements
  • Deep knowledge of industrial piping systems and their estimating requirements.
  • Familiarity with welding processes, pipe routing, isometric takeoffs, and quality assurance and quality control protocols.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Procore, Autodesk Build 360, SharePoint, Navisworks, SolidWorks, Tekla, Trimble, and Strumis.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex and high-volume estimating assignments under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with construction means and methods in fabrication and field installation.
  • A minimum of 7–10 years of experience in industrial estimating with a significant focus on piping systems.
  • A proven track record estimating piping scopes in oil and gas, chemical, power, water and wastewater, or food and beverage industries.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of conceptual and detailed cost estimates with heavy emphasis on industrial piping scopes.
  • Review specifications, piping and instrumentation diagrams, isometrics, and drawings to assess material, labor, and equipment requirements for piping systems.
  • Identify piping materials, fittings, valves, supports, and specialty components, and work with vendors to verify pricing and availability.
  • Incorporate weld procedures, testing requirements, access, and installation constraints into piping estimates.
  • Coordinate with fabrication shops for prefabrication pricing and lead times.
  • Develop and maintain estimating tools, piping cost databases, and productivity factors.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotations for scope, pricing, and alignment with bid strategy.
  • Review general conditions, schedules, site logistics, and constructability issues.
  • Maintain clear and detailed documentation of estimates and bid assumptions.
  • Manage multiple estimating efforts simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Serve as a key contributor during pre-bid meetings, proposal development, and client interactions.
  • Mentor junior estimators and promote professional growth within the estimating team.
  • Foster relationships with clients, engineering firms, vendors, and internal teams.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent field is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience in estimating or construction management is preferred.
  • Experience with estimating software is a plus.
