Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Sport Administration or a related field.
  • Two years of track and field or cross country coaching experience, including collegiate, professional, or club coaching experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of and commitment to NCAA, ACC, and University rules and regulations.
  • Ability and willingness to work a non-standard workweek, including nights and weekends, and to travel as required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Track & Field/Cross Country Coach with programmatic oversight and recruiting coordination for assigned events.
  • Oversee recruiting, training, competition, and daily welfare activities relating to student-athletes.
  • Plan, organize, lead, and implement all components of assigned events, including cross country and track program leadership and management.
  • Provide event-specific instruction in techniques, conditioning, and competitive tactics.
  • Identify and recruit talented student-athletes into the program.
  • Set up, implement, and tear down event-specific practice sessions.
  • Provide student-athlete development and mentorship.
  • Serve as the team Academic Liaison.
  • Manage the assigned group TMP and Cara log.
  • Promote compliance with NCAA, ACC, and university rules and regulations by monitoring program activities, participating in continuous rules education, submitting compliance-related documents on time, and reporting potential rules violations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with student-athletes, staff, and university departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.
Desired Qualifications
  • A strong history of recruiting and coaching Division I All-Conference performers and Division I Indoor and Outdoor NCAA Championship participants in assigned events.
  • Five or more years of Division I coaching experience overseeing assigned events.
  • Effective interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills.
  • A high-level commitment to program, department, and university needs.
  • Ability to collaborate with support staff to pursue optimal performance and academic success.
