Requirements
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required.
  • Seven to ten years of hands-on Program, Project, or Technical Program Management experience managing embedded software programs is required.
  • Experience must cover embedded software programs such as firmware, drivers, real-time operating systems, board support packages, or low-level software, rather than enterprise IT or cloud programs.
  • Strong technical understanding of embedded systems and semiconductor development is required.
  • Experience with firmware and driver development using Linux, bare-metal systems, or hardware abstraction layers is required.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX, embOS, or VxWorks is required.
  • Experience with bootloaders, board support packages, secure boot, or low-level peripheral drivers is required.
  • Experience with power and clock management, system-on-chip initialization, or hardware bring-up is required.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, system-on-chips, application-specific integrated circuits, digital signal processors, wireless chipsets, advanced driver-assistance system controllers, power-management integrated circuits, or mixed-signal products is required.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor development, including silicon-readiness milestones and post-silicon validation workflows, is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills are required.
  • Experience working with large multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple time zones is required.
  • A hands-on engineering background in embedded software, firmware or driver development, silicon-block design, or hardware board/system design is required.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems through structured experiments and data analysis are required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Confluence, JIRA, and Jama or JAMA Connect is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical and program information effectively to stakeholders at all levels, are required.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple embedded programs, prioritize effectively, and drive aggressive schedules are required.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction processes for combined silicon and firmware programs is required.
  • Applicants must be willing to travel occasionally as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Own and drive large-scale embedded software programs to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Lead Agile project management processes in collaboration with firmware, driver, real-time operating system, silicon design, hardware engineering, validation, applications, and systems teams.
  • Drive alignment between firmware and silicon milestones, including engineering-sample milestones, engineering validation testing, design validation testing, production validation testing, bring-up timelines, and post-silicon validation.
  • Identify and manage risks in embedded software and silicon-software integration, and drive solutions before they affect the project.
  • Manage matrixed engineering resources across multiple projects to optimize team efficiency, clarity, and productivity.
  • Define and track embedded-centric key performance indicators and program metrics, and provide reporting and updates to senior engineering leadership.
  • Lead continuous-improvement initiatives using best practices and standardized processes to improve execution discipline and engineering efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures and engineering standards throughout project execution.
  • Drive retrospectives and lessons-learned activities across all technical disciplines.
