  • A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is required for consideration.
  • Successful candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Successful candidates must develop a nationally recognized, externally funded research program.
  • Successful candidates must contribute to the institution and profession through service.
  • Candidates should have a strong background in mechanical engineering related to design and manufacturing, including design theory and methodology, design automation, design for manufacturing and lifecycle, design for additive manufacturing, computer-aided design, systems engineering, digital engineering, and applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning in design and manufacturing.
  • Industry work experience related to design and manufacturing would be considered favorably.
  • Applicants from other areas in mechanical engineering will be considered, but preference will be given to those in design and manufacturing.
Responsibilities
  • Teach courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Develop and maintain a nationally recognized, externally funded research program.
  • Contribute to the department and profession through service.
