The LeFleur Museum District hosts 10th Annual Mississippi Science Festival, presented by C Spire. Jackson, Miss. - The Mississippi Science Festival (MSF) presented by C Spire Foundation, the LeFleur Museum District's (LMD) signature event, will take place Sept. 15 - 20, 2025 in Jackson to demonstrate how careers in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) can advance Mississippi's education curriculum and workforce initiatives. For the past decade, MSF has introduced children of all ages to the wide variety of STEAM concepts and industries that are available in Mississippi. Guests can purchase a ticket for Saturday's festival and explore all 4 museums for just $10. On Saturday, September 20, exhibitors and activities will be at all four LMD museums - the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, the Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum, the Mississippi Children's Museum, and the MDWFP's Mississippi Museum of Natural Science. C Spire mentors guide teams comprised of four fourth-grade students through coding challenges. This year the challenge will include a chatbot built with AI by C Spire in collaboration with Amazon Web Services. In addition, students are treated to lunch compliments of C Spire Foundation and participate in an awards ceremony at the conclusion of the challenge. LeFleur Museum District In partnership with MSF, the four LMD museums are inviting students to attend a special STEAM-themed Field Trip Friday. The museums will host a day dedicated to promoting STEAM subjects and increasing science literacy for field trip guests. Students attending Field Trip Friday will have an opportunity to participate in hands-on experiments, interactive exhibits, and see classroom science lessons come to life.
