Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 3 + years of related working in one of the following specialized fields: electric propulsion, machinery control, power generation or distribution systems
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
Responsibilities
  • Review electrical systems design drawings, interpret ship specifications, evaluate power and lighting systems, and electric or diesel-electric propulsion.
  • Write electrical system specifications for concept, preliminary and contract-level designs and ship modifications.
  • Review marine electrical systems and define engineering requirements. Develop system documentation and ship specifications.
  • Perform design and calculations including but not limited to EPLA (Electric Power Load Analysis), Arc-Flash Analysis, Electrical System Survivability Analysis, and Ground Fault Analysis.
  • Conduct design, analysis, studies, and recapitalization of electrical circuits, power monitoring and control systems, electric propulsion, and power generation.
  • Evaluate effect of new or modified electrical subsystems on overall system performance.
  • Review and adjudicate system design specifications, test requirements, Departures from Specification (DFS’s), Request for Waiver (RFW), and Engineering Changes (EC’s).
