Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field, or enrollment in a Doctorate program from an accredited or state-approved graduate school is required.
  • Candidates must be licensed or able to transfer a license in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or Clinical Psychology in the state where services are provided.
  • Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults or adolescents is required.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary clinical contact for families and maintain proactive, clear communication regarding clients' progress and treatment.
  • Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions using Newport Healthcare's clinical model and Attachment-Based Family Therapy principles.
  • Lead Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and Family Support Groups to engage and educate families about the treatment process.
  • Complete risk assessments and initial safety plans upon client admission.
  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans within established timelines.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to coordinate treatment goals and services, including 30-day treatment plan reviews and updates.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, group notes, contact notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Conduct risk or crisis assessments and provide appropriate intervention and management as necessary to ensure client safety and well-being.
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision.
  • Accurately enter and save data using Microsoft Word, Outlook for email and calendaring, electronic medical records, and online learning platforms.
  • Represent Newport Healthcare at meetings, trainings, and conferences as needed.

  • Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment is preferred.
