  • 12+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Master’s degree preferred
  • Professional certification strongly preferred
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS), Certified Environmental Scientist (CES), Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP), or similar
Responsibilities
  • Serve as Primary Author or Project Manager for all levels of NEPA documents and/or Planning studies
  • Lead client communication, scope development, contract management, and staff direction
  • Lead project level public outreach efforts, give presentations, and respond to feedback
  • Understand, interpret, and apply environmental and planning sector regulations at the federal, state, and local level
  • Review past and current planning and environmental documentation for relevant and applicable data
  • Collaborate with clients, subconsultants, agency representatives, the public, and other professionals to develop innovative solutions
  • Manage assigned projects by providing direct supervision and overall leadership
  • Develop project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Identify resources needed and delegate staff duties
  • Check and sign off on deliverables, review project-related correspondence, and verify invoices
  • Monitor staff hours, ensure compliance with procedures, and track lessons learned
  • Perform field or site visits, manage multi-disciplinary projects, and create project work plans
  • Identify business development opportunities, assist with marketing efforts, and maintain awareness of new technology
  • Challenge others to develop as leaders, seek leadership roles in professional organizations, and contribute to Professional Development Plans
  • Comply with project and company safety guidelines
