- Professional certification strongly preferred
- American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS), Certified Environmental Scientist (CES), Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP), or similar
- Serve as Primary Author or Project Manager for all levels of NEPA documents and/or Planning studies
- Lead client communication, scope development, contract management, and staff direction
- Lead project level public outreach efforts, give presentations, and respond to feedback
- Understand, interpret, and apply environmental and planning sector regulations at the federal, state, and local level
- Review past and current planning and environmental documentation for relevant and applicable data
- Collaborate with clients, subconsultants, agency representatives, the public, and other professionals
- Manage assigned projects by providing direct supervision and overall leadership
- Develop project scope, schedule and budget, and integrate into work plans
- Identify resources needed and effectively delegate staff duties and responsibilities
- Check and sign off on deliverables while ensuring completeness
- Review and/or prepare all project-related correspondence
- Review and verify invoices and direct expense reports for accuracy
- Monitor staff hours for appropriate labor codes and charges
- Ensure compliance with PQMP procedures and assigned projects
- Track lessons learned and share those lessons with team members
- Perform field or site visits as required
- Manage multi-disciplinary or complex projects by providing direct supervision and overall leadership
- Create and execute advanced project work plans and revise as necessary
- Identify business development and “add-on” sales opportunities
- Assist with marketing efforts, proposal writing and marketing visits to potential clients
- Maintain an awareness of new and emerging technology
- Challenge others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor
- Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships
- Perform training/knowledge-sharing activities on a larger scale
- Advanced involvement in professional organizations, seeking leadership roles
- Contribute to Professional Development Plans
- Comply with all project and company safety guidelines
