Requirements
  • Earned Master's in Information Systems, Master's in Database, or a closely related field.
Responsibilities
  • Part-time instructors typically teach one to three courses per semester on campus related to undergraduate Information Systems.
  • Part-time lecturers prepare course lessons, evaluate students, hold regular office hours, and are expected to become proficient with Canvas, the University’s learning management system.
  • Application Development: Java, Python, and PHP development (including database, web, and mobile app development) for classes IST 140, IST 242, IST 256, IST 311, IST 411, ETI 461, HCDD 340.
  • Analyst / Integrator (Business and Data): Collects, analyzes, and interprets data, processes, and requirements to help companies improve their performance (SAP a plus) for classes IST 420, IST 421.
  • Database: Database design, relational data modeling, SQL query language (MySQL); optimization and performance tuning of DB concepts, ACID properties; data cleaning and integration, query decomposition, and processing for classes IST 210, ETI 461, ETI 463.
  • Enterprise Analytics & Web Stacks: Analytics and big data, ROI in analytics, using analytics for improved organization performance; enterprise stack platforms, cloud-based infrastructure solutions for classes ETI 300W, ETI 435.
  • Human Computer Interaction- Usability (UX/UI): Use social, cognitive, and data-driven research to understand the context of use and the user experience; translates concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences for classes HCDD 113, HCDD 246, HCDD 364W.
  • Management Information Systems: application of spreadsheet engineering concepts and principles of data management (MS Excel) for classes MIS 250, MIS 390.
Desired Qualifications
  • Industry Certifications are encouraged.
  • College-level teaching experience is strongly preferred.
