Requirements
  • A Class B license, a clean driving record, and a valid Department of Transportation medical card are required.
  • At least three years of experience operating a 26-foot box truck is required.
  • The candidate must pass the seven-year FADV review in the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
  • Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations is required.
  • Experience with Department of Transportation compliance, logging hours, and roadside inspections is required.
  • Proven longevity in past employment is required.
  • Touch freight experience is required.
Responsibilities
  • Drive trucks across the Baton Rouge area and work in the warehouse.
  • Collect sharps and medical waste containers in a 26-foot box truck from healthcare customer locations and deliver them.
  • Provide a high level of customer service and build positive customer relationships.
  • Check in containers, double-check paperwork, move and unload specific waste containers, and build orders.
  • Operate a 26-foot box truck safely.
  • Safely collect, deliver, and store medical waste containers at customer locations.
  • Complete deliveries according to the schedule and clearly communicate changes.
  • Load, unload, and organize the truck according to schedule needs.
  • Comply with Department of Transportation regulations, log hours, and complete roadside inspections.
  • Push and pull a four-wheeled cart weighing up to 200 pounds.
