Requirements
- Current and good standing Registered Nurse License in the State of New York
- Progressive nursing experience in a geriatric setting
Responsibilities
- Organizes, oversees, and supervises assigned unit activities and staff assignments and demonstrates clinical expertise consistent with established standards of Nursing Practice
- Identifies and responds, appropriately and timely, to patient needs
- Monitors, observes, and documents vital signs, treatments administered, and patient responses
- Administers medications and treatments as needed
- Communicates and directs services ongoing or any plan/concerns/information to appropriate team members, resident, family, or medical staff as needed
- Identifies and follows disciplinary action as stated in policy
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team, physicians, and other vendors/services
- Performs registered nurse assessment to resident’s post incidents or change in condition
- Leads and directs emergency situations – (Fire alarm, Elopement, etc.)
- Maintains accurate nursing report, staffing sheets, and census roster
Desired Qualifications
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Previous experience with geriatric/short term rehabilitation/Alzheimer’s patients is desirable
- Covid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but not mandated
