Requirements
  • Three to five years of experience managing a workforce that includes internal employees and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of vendor and subcontractor relations, government contracts, organized electronic and paper document flow, and estimating.
  • Supervisory skills in planning, organizing, and completing scheduled work.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid state driver's license with an excellent driving record.
  • The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach, climb stairs and ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and smell as required.
Responsibilities
  • Plan the division of work, assign work to crews, and check job completion for compliance with special instructions and good trade practices.
  • Plan and develop the recurring work list for the current fiscal year, including estimates for labor, materials, special equipment, and vehicles.
  • Act as a liaison between government officials and subcontractors when necessary.
  • Conduct a ground safety program, inform subordinates of safety rules and safe working practices, enforce them, modify work methods to reduce hazards, report accidents and injuries, and inspect work areas.
  • Maintain current files of directives, technical orders, and instructions pertaining to the shop's work.
  • Maintain accurate cost, production, and other records and reports reflecting the shop's work.
  • Request materials to ensure proper workflow.
  • Ensure the accuracy of subordinates' time and attendance records.
  • Support and execute Chugach procurement policies relating to vendor purchase orders and subcontracts for BSSC contract services.
  • Use employees' existing skills to enhance their capabilities and advance them according to their abilities.
  • Address situations that could cause discrimination complaints and take prompt constructive action to eliminate them.
  • Perform work indoors and outdoors, including repairs and installations in inclement weather.
  • Complete all work accurately and on time.
  • Work closely and harmoniously with other employees.
  • Adhere to contract requirements and CSE, LLC policies.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working on or managing federal government contracts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Maximo database maintenance and implementation experience.
  • A four-year bachelor's degree.
