Requirements
  • The candidate must have 10+ years of progressive engineering experience with deep AWS platform expertise.
  • The candidate must have proven ownership of multi-account AWS architecture at organizational scale, including landing zones, Control Tower or equivalent, account vending, and service control policies.
  • The candidate must have expert Terraform and infrastructure-as-code program design experience, including module ecosystems consumed by multiple teams, testing, and versioning strategy.
  • The candidate must have demonstrated success architecting and executing large migrations from data centers or private clouds to AWS, including ERP-class or other stateful enterprise workloads.
  • The candidate must have a strong software engineering foundation in Python, Go, or a similar language, and fluency with modern continuous integration and continuous delivery such as GitHub Actions or an equivalent.
  • The candidate must have a working command of cloud security architecture and compliance-driven design, including SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
  • The candidate must have a track record of technical leadership without formal authority, including mentoring senior engineers, driving decisions through writing and review, and influencing executives.
  • The candidate must have designed AI-assisted or agentic engineering systems with guardrails, autonomy tiers, and measured return on investment, with L4 or higher AI competency by industry frameworks.
  • The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated skills.
Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end AWS platform architecture, including multi-account organization design, landing zone, networking, DNS and certificate architecture, identity, and tenancy model.
  • Set the technical roadmap for Encore-on-AWS environment builds for temporary, production, and demo environments on a shared golden infrastructure-as-code stack, and for LabelTraxx platform evolution.
  • Define the migration architecture and sequencing that completes Amtech's exit from legacy private-cloud infrastructure.
  • Write and defend architecture decision records and eliminate weak options early with evidence.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging capabilities, including AI and agentic tooling and model context protocol-based integration patterns, under Amtech's AI governance program.
  • Personally author the highest-leverage Terraform modules and reference implementations and review the remainder.
  • Set standards for continuous integration and continuous delivery, GitHub Actions, progressive delivery, environment promotion, and secrets management.
  • Design for reliability with site reliability engineering peers, including service-level objective frameworks, observability architecture using OpenTelemetry and OpenObserve, and PagerDuty service models.
  • Drive platform cost architecture with FinOps, including tenancy economics, Savings Plans strategy input, and unit-cost visibility.
  • Design security architecture with Information Security, including identity and access management boundaries, network segmentation, encryption, and data governance for customer data.
  • Ensure the platform satisfies SOC 2 and ISO 27001 obligations by design, with audit evidence generated through automation.
  • Assess and articulate technical risk for executive decisions, including migration sequencing, vendor dependencies, and single points of failure.
  • Design agentic and AI-assisted engineering workflows with autonomy tiers, policy-as-code guardrails, rollback, and end-to-end auditability, and measure return on investment against baselines.
  • Define platform AI standards, including where AI sits in the delivery lifecycle, validation-layer architecture, and evaluation harnesses.
  • Prevent AI-generated code from degrading platform quality at fleet scale through evaluation harnesses, complexity metrics, and AI-attributed defect tracking.
  • Contribute to enterprise AI strategy and standards under Amtech's AI governance program.
  • Mentor senior engineers and raise design-review quality across United States and India pods.
  • Serve as the senior technical counterpart to AWS, consulting partners, and third-party providers on funded programs.
  • Translate platform strategy into terms executives and investors can act on and support diligence and integration work for acquisitions.
  • Ensure knowledge is durable through documentation, runbooks, and deliberate succession of critical knowledge, avoiding single-person dependencies.
Desired Qualifications
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional certification.
  • Experience with multi-tenant software as a service and account-per-customer tenancy economics.
  • Experience in a private equity portfolio, mergers and acquisitions integration, or investor-facing technical diligence contexts.
  • Experience establishing AI or large-language-model platform capabilities or agent-based automation under formal governance.
  • Experience directing consulting partners on funded cloud programs, such as AWS Migration Acceleration Program.

Amtech Software provides an end-to-end platform that connects estimating, planning, and plant-floor execution for corrugated, folding carton, flexible packaging, and label manufacturers. The system unifies estimation, scheduling, and on-floor work in a single workflow, using AI-augmented tools and cloud-ready infrastructure to turn shop-floor data into better plans and outcomes. It differentiates itself by being built specifically for packaging converters with decades of vertical expertise, combining AI features and cloud data handling in one platform rather than generic manufacturing software. Its goal is to make plant data predictable and profitable by aligning quotes, plans, and production on one connected system.

Amtech launches suite to help corrugated manufacturers manage hand assembly and contract packaging

Amtech Software has launched a new suite to help corrugated manufacturers manage hand assembly and fulfillment operations. The solution addresses rising margin pressure from containerboard costs by enabling manufacturers to offer higher-margin services like contract packaging and assembled products. The suite includes two capability levels: EnCore Assembled Products for kits and displays, and EnCore Contract Packaging for complex operations including component tracking and customer-supplied materials. It also features hand assembly scheduling in Amtech's Advanced Planning Board, allowing teams to manage converting and assembly work together. The platform replaces siloed spreadsheets and point solutions, providing unified management of product structures, inventory and scheduling. Amtech, founded over 40 years ago, serves over 1,250 plants worldwide with ERP and manufacturing software for the packaging industry.
