- One year of related experience, preferably within a professional services firm, including experience with photocopiers, scanners, and binding equipment.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office product suite and PDF creator and editor software such as Adobe Acrobat or Nuance Power PDF.

- Code, bookmark, quality-check, organize, print, and scan documents, including downloading jobs from email or data sites, sizing, reproducing, sorting, collating, and finishing them.
- Complete a high volume of work accurately.
- Assist with electronic filing according to legal assistant or principal instructions and firm or practice group guidelines.
- Provide routine support to visiting lawyers by ensuring office supplies are available and office equipment is working properly.
- Ensure principals know who to contact for document support during and after hours.
- Liaise with visiting lawyers’ assistants to coordinate and confirm travel arrangements and requirements upon arrival.
- Prepare binders, closing folders, and closing books.
- Coordinate vacation, break, lunch, and absenteeism schedules with team members to ensure assistants and principals are supported.
- Perform ad hoc duties such as data entry.
- Experience using an electronic document management system.

Norton Rose Fulbright's Canadian head of energy Robert Froehlich bolsters Torys' energy group. He has spearheaded major energy projects and transactions, working with the likes of PETRONAS pictured: Robert Froehlich Robert Froehlich, formerly the Canadian head of Norton Rose Fulbright's energy practice, has joined the partnership at Torys, bolstering its energy group in Calgary. He has guided domestic and international clients on projects involving LNG, conventional and unconventional upstream petroleum and natural gas, heavy oil and oilsands, pipeline and midstream infrastructure, refining, electricity, and renewable power. He has served as lead counsel on asset acquisitions and divestitures, private merger and acquisition transactions, joint venture and partnership formation, and commercial arrangements underscoring energy project development. Froehlich represented PETRONAS as it acquired Progress Energy Resources Corp. for $5.8 billion. He also assisted PETRONAS and its affiliates with securing a 25 percent participating interest in the $40 billion LNG Canada Project in Kitimat, British Columbia from affiliates of Shell Canada Energy, PetroChina Canada Ltd., Diamond LNG Canada Ltd. and Kogas Canada LNG Ltd. According to Torys, this was the first large-scale liquefied natural gas export facility in Canada. He acted for Kiwetinohk Resources as it acquired an interest in certain multi-zone, oil and liquids-rich natural gas producing Duvernay assets in northwest Alberta's Simonette area for $160 million. He also represented Tidewater Midstream and Infrastructure in a $277 million acquisition of the Prince George Refinery from Husky Energy Inc. and in the related negotiation of a long-term refined fuel products offtake agreement. Froehlich was with Norton Rose Fulbright, where he made partner, for nearly 20 years before making the jump to Torys, per LinkedIn. He also chaired the firm's business law group in Calgary. He was once the Canadian Energy Law Foundation's president, treasurer, and director. For the third year in a row, Torys' Knowledge and Innovation team received the award for Best Use of Technology in a Law Firm for the development of the revolutionary Torys Notes Product - the first fully automated, end-to-end workflow solution designed to ensure proper drafting, reviewing and filing of non-principal protected notes in Canada. The product sets a new industry standard for technological innovation by a law firm while delivering measurable benefits to its client. Insolvency and Restructuring Deal of the Year for Canadian Tobacco's restructuring under the CCAA. Torys acted as counsel to JT Canada and PricewaterhouseCoopers in its capacity as receiver of JTI-MacDonald TM Corp., in the three historic jointly administered CCAA proceedings of JTI-Macdonald Corp., Imperial Tobacco and Rothmans, Benson & Hedges. This resulted in the approval of plans of arrangement for all three companies that address over one trillion dollars in claims and provides a settlement for the payment of C$32.5 billion to the various claimants. The Torys team was led by Scott Bomhof and Adam Slavens (restructuring). M&A Deal of the Year for Strathcona Resources' hostile takeover bid and Cenovus Energy's acquisition of MEG Energy. Torys acted as lead counsel to the special committee of independent directors of Strathcona Resources Ltd. in connection with its proposed unsolicited take-over bid for all issued and outstanding common shares of MEG Energy Corp., initially valued at C$5.6 billion and subsequently increased to C$7.85 billion. Torys also advised on the concurrent equity commitment from Waterous Energy Fund to purchase common shares of Strathcona in connection with the bid, conditional upon completion of the transaction. Mid-Market Deal of the Year for Blue Ant's go-public reverse takeover transaction of Boat Rocker.
