Lime is seeking an exceptional Staff Visual Design System Lead for our Rider and Operations experiences, you will report into the Head of UX.
In this role, you will work horizontally across all of our products to build and implement a design system leveraging space, typography, color, iconography, and motion to help people successfully navigate our products. You will also be able to create end to end visions of future generations of our products to inspire and enable our teams. A passion for hardware is highly valuable, as you will collaborate with our Industrial Design team to drive Visual Excellence holistically from the physical world through to the digital one.
In addition to robust visual design skills, candidates should have experience identifying core user needs, crafting end-to-end user journeys and applying strategic thinking and business goals to designs. We also look for candidates who know how to work as a team since you’ll be working with product managers, product designers, and engineers.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in an evolving startup environment. You will be an in the moment problem solver with the ability to think about the short term and long term plan. You’re energized about building and scaling and being part of a forward-thinking organization.
What you’ll do:
- Drive our design framework by working horizontally supporting UX designers and Product Managers to ensure our product is beautifully and consistently crafted to a high visual design bar
- Maintain design system assets and documentation that includes guidelines, components, tokens, patterns, and best practices for UI/UX design.
- Regularly audit existing products and suggest improvements to align with the design language and system.
- Strong systems mindset, with the ability to unify disparate interactions into single scalable pattern.
- Set the creative vision of Lime’s Rider Experience on iOS and Android. Partner with product managers and engineers to own the user experience of new features from conception until launch. Work on products that have hundreds of millions of impressions annually.
- Collaborate with Lime’s hardware team to deliver full service design by creating experiences that delight users spanning software, hardware and the real world.
About you:
- Candidates will ideally have 7+ years years of professional experience in UX/UI design, specializing in visual design, developing component libraries and deep-diving into design systems.
- Proficiency in using Figma, FigJam, and other design tools
- Expertise in mobile app and web design & development, preferred expertise in transportation, working with hardware partners.
- An ability to own and drive the strategy and execution of entire end-to-end product solutions.
- A process that grounds work in user research and considers the context of the user’s experience.
- Meticulous and detail-oriented with an ability to execute at a high level of aesthetic craft.
- Experience working in a very dynamic environment.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $125,000 - $229,000. Equity and benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, depending on the position offered. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s skills, experience and other qualifications as well as the candidate’s location of residence. In addition to base salary, some roles may be eligible for a variable bonus based on a combination of company performance, employee performance, and management discretion.
