Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience leading site-level quality operations with teams of at least 3 direct reports.
  • Experience as a quality professional within manufacturing or an automotive supplier.
  • Practical knowledge and leadership experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma.
  • Technical and business knowledge, including financial modeling and analysis using Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint.
  • Valid U.S. work authorization is required.
Responsibilities
  • Establish, implement, and maintain quality practices consistent with operational and customer requirements.
  • Direct and promote diagnostic, predictive quality, and continuous improvement tools and techniques, including statistical process control, statistical analysis, Lean, and Six Sigma.
  • Perform quality system and process audits, report audit and survey results, recommend improvements, and drive root-cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Establish corrective and preventive action systems to improve operational performance related to scrap, rework, cost of poor quality, quality escapes, and returns.
  • Track and report site internal and external quality metrics.
  • Assist in developing design failure mode and effects analysis and process failure mode and effects analysis for manufacturing processes and new products.
  • Implement continuous improvement practices, including appropriate kaizen events for quality and manufacturing processes.
  • Manage external quality system audits conducted by third parties and customers.
  • Lead the site quality management system training process and ensure compliance with corporate Quality Assurance and Regulatory Assurance training.
  • Develop talent within the quality assurance function and create and track professional and developmental goals.
  • Lead weekly quality meetings to review current issues, share updates, and address questions from inspectors and operations.
  • Send daily and weekly notifications to Operations and Quality teams regarding staffing, absences, and coverage plans.
  • Provide direction on professional conduct and effective handling of challenges on the manufacturing floor.
  • Review and approve weekly timecards, vacation requests, and wellness time off for inspectors.
  • Conduct training on quality procedures, process flows, and documentation requirements.
  • Complete and maintain training records and ensure their storage and accessibility for audits and reference.
  • Update and manage the department training matrix to ensure compliance and readiness.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support Quality operations and continuous improvement.
