Requirements
  • 5+ years of underwriting experience, including at least several years handling high-complex cyber and Technology E&O risks for large enterprise business (~$1B+ revenue); additional experience in underwriting miscellaneous professional liability is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze complex cyber and technology risks and understand their implications for underwriting, pricing, structure, and profitability.
  • Ability to combine underwriting expertise with broker and client needs to craft solutions and explain rationale clearly and confidently.
  • Strong presentation presence, negotiation skills, and comfort handling executive-facing broker and client conversations.
  • Meaningful experience mentoring others and contributing to underwriting standards, governance, or training.
Responsibilities
  • Underwrite new and renewal accounts within authority, including the enterprise segment (accounts with ~$1B+ in revenue), while maintaining alignment to underwriting guidelines, risk appetite, and carrier requirements.
  • Own senior and specialty broker relationships and play a visible role in client-facing activity for larger and more complex accounts.
  • Maintain disciplined underwriting files, documentation, and internal tool usage in line with Coalition’s workflows and governance standards.
  • Lead more granular discussions on coverage, manuscript endorsement requests, alternate forms, and other non-standard structures typical of larger-market underwriting.
  • Bring deeper technical underwriting judgment to more complex organizations, including risks involving larger networks, subsidiaries, and differentiated operating-company exposures.
  • Mentor and coach other underwriters, including support on files, broker communication, and deal strategy.
  • Partner with Sales, Product, Claims, CPU, and Coalition’s security team to improve underwriting decisions, market execution, and client outcomes.
  • Help shape local or regional underwriting practices, escalation standards, and process improvements for more sophisticated business.
  • Regular travel required for broker management, client meetings, education, and market-facing activity.
