We are seeking a Nashville, TN based Fund Administration Team Leader to join our Accounting Team in Global Fund Administration.
What You’ll Do:
The candidate will report to a Manager of one of the Accounting Teams. The Fund Administration Team Lead assists the Accounting Manager in providing direction and guidance to the group. In addition, this candidate would also assist the Accounting Manager in implementing procedures in order to provide the highest level of quality service. The candidate will play an integral role in ensuring the requirements of our internal and external customers are managed efficiently and effectively as we look to provide “Best in Class Service” to all of our customers.
Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports:
The Team Leader plays a key role in the administration of the day to day activities of all pooled vehicles for the Global Fund Administration department
The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The Fund Administration Team Lead will support various internal customers (marketing, legal, portfolio management, etc) as well as our external customers to support the day to day operations of all pooled vehicles. There will be one on one specific training as well as group training as the opportunity arises.
Specific responsibilities may include but not be limited to:
Provide all of the services listed in the position description of a Fund Administration Fund Analyst when a Fund Administration Analyst is unavailable.
Responsible for on-the-job training, coaching of new hires and the development of Fund Administration Analysts within the group.
Assists Accounting Manager with resolution of complex issues/problems.
Takes on special projects as needed.
High level review of Shareholder Reports.
Coordinate audit process and follow up on audit issues.
Review fund and potential shareholder level tax information
Review fund distribution calculations
Helps ensure proper workflow within the team.
Fill in for Manager when he/she is out.
Recommends and participates in the implementation of changes and enhancements to the department.
Process Improvements.
Document procedures.
Reply to client requests

You are not doing the day to day accounting, which gets redundant and tiring after some time. Our role is more analytical in nature.

The oversight nature of this role allows a candidate to take their accounting knowledge to become more analytical in nature. We have a vast array of product types for candidates to learn over time and we are a department that prefers to promote from within when the opportunity arises.
What We Are Looking For:
Qualifications, Experience, Education: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the mutual fund or finance industry as well as a 4 year degree in a business field (preferably accounting or finance related).
Skills: The candidate should have a proficient knowledge of mutual fund accounting. The job requires knowledge of tax issues, SEC regulations, financial reporting and the use of spreadsheets. It also requires excellent analytical skills, communication skills, organizational skills, and problem solving skills. The knowledge and skills required are acquired through the completion of a college education as well as experience in the mutual fund industry.
Special Knowledge (if applicable): The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in standard desktop applications (excel, word, outlook, etc). Knowledge of RIC reporting requirements, financial reporting experiences and any alternative product knowledge is a plus. Candidates with process management/improvement experience is preferred.
In accordance with applicable law, the minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is as follows:
Base Salary Range: $110,000 to $120,000
Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base salary is just one component of total compensation at AB, which may include, depending on eligibility, commissions, year-end incentive compensation, short- and long-term incentives and Department-specific awards.
