OVERVIEW
The failure analysis engineering position at the site is to interface with the factory technical staff and with corporate engineering to test and analyze components or material to help troubleshoot process issues or qualify processes or material. This role is focused on high complexity manufacturing processes and is key to the standardization and advancement of the processes in Plexus. This role is also responsible for solving high level customer/assembly specific problems in the manufacturing process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform preparation and initial assessment of defective, electronic, electrical and mechanical parts.
- Follow approved analysis practices to perform assessments of new components and materials for implementation into the manufacturing process
- Generate FA (Failure Analysis) reports to summarize findings using Microsoft Word, PPT or Excel and convert to PDF as required.
- Support new and existing process development, implementation, and controls in support of Plexus and customer specific needs at the site
- Support quote activities by reviewing and ensuring all customer technology requirements are met
- Support process qualifications and validations of both new and existing processes
- Support FF (Focus Factory) troubleshooting CRGs (Customer Returned Goods) in manufacturing or customer sites
- Monitor CRG performance based on analysis of both Plexus and Customer data
- Participate in customer-facing CRG activities, monitoring, auditing and reporting of site process through the use of metrics
- Assist in the assessment and management of third party laboratory services
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering program for entire duration of internship.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Junior level status
- GPA: 3.0 or higher is preferred
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
