As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Pure Mathematics, you will lead innovative research that connects pure and applied mathematics, influencing real-world scientific challenges.
You will design and deliver high-impact teaching, mentoring diverse students across undergraduate, MSc and PhD programmes.
You will join a vibrant, internationally connected School with exceptional research support and interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities.
What you will deliver:
Conduct high quality research linking pure and applied mathematics, publishing in leading international journals.
Secure competitive external research funding and contribute to collaborative projects across the School and Faculty.
Design and deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics subjects, including coordination and assessment responsibilities.
Supervise MSc and PhD research students, fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments and academic success.
Contribute to School governance, outreach, and public engagement, promoting mathematics within diverse communities.
You may be a great fit if you:
Hold a PhD or equivalent research higher degree in mathematics, statistics, or a closely related discipline.
Demonstrate research excellence through strong publications and an emerging or established international reputation, relative to opportunity.
Show capacity to strengthen the school’s research and education activities and broaden existing thematic strengths.
Build productive research collaborations and attract competitive funding through national or international grant or contract schemes.
Design and teach subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with clear evidence of supervision potential.
Contribute collegially to a large school, including leadership and service , professional activity, and engagement with diverse communities.
