Requirements
  • At least 3 years of progressive facilities management experience in a hotel or related field, or a 2-year college degree and 1 year of related management experience.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations, and general maintenance are required.
  • Ability to work long hours when required.
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with employees and guests at all levels in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Ability to listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to attend required hotel meetings and trainings.
  • Ability to participate in manager-on-duty coverage as required.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing nametags.
  • Ability to comply with company standards and regulations to support safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Responsibilities
  • Hire, train, supervise, motivate, counsel, and recognize the maintenance staff at each hotel.
  • Oversee daily operations, sustainability programs, inventory, ordering, and scheduling within the department budget at each hotel.
  • Perform basic repairs and preventive maintenance throughout the hotels and inspect completed work to ensure quality and standards are met.
  • Troubleshoot technical devices such as key card systems, internet equipment, and television equipment.
  • Oversee safety programs and key control at each hotel.
  • Greet and assist guests with requests, and develop relationships with long-term and repeat guests to maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Support each hotel's goals through teamwork and collaboration with all departments.
  • Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist with implementing solutions.
  • Handle problems by anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving them as necessary.
  • Understand and evaluate complex information and data from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
