Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Information Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in systems administration and security aspects of information systems, access management and network security technologies, network communications, computer networking, telecommunications, systems development and management, hardware, software, data, and people.
  • Experience with multiple technical and business disciplines.
  • Cloud security certifications such as Certified Cloud Security Professional or cloud service provider-specific security certifications.
Responsibilities
  • Lead efforts to integrate cyber defense and security operations capabilities into enterprise and subsidiary cloud environments across Amazon Web Services, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, ensuring consistent visibility and detection coverage.
  • Partner with cloud infrastructure and application teams to ensure security controls, logging, and telemetry are enabled, validated, and operational for cloud services and workloads.
  • Work with application, platform, and engineering teams to ensure the appropriate level of logging is enabled within their respective environments.
  • Define the roadmap and strategy for cloud cyber defense, including cloud security posture management, threat detection, logging pipelines, and incident response integration.
  • Propose and develop cloud threat monitoring use cases and train security operations center analysts to triage, investigate, and remediate alerts based on those use cases.
  • Collaborate with security operations and incident response teams to investigate complex cloud security events and support remediation efforts.
  • Infuse automation and artificial intelligence-driven capabilities into cloud threat management operations.
  • Work with vendors to evaluate, select, and onboard technologies, and partner with vendor contacts to ensure product roadmaps address evolving business and technical requirements.
  • Design new cloud architectures compliant with Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program or other regulatory requirements to support pursuit of new business.
  • Participate in governance review for new cloud services, artificial intelligence-enabled platforms, and software-as-a-service offerings, ensuring security requirements, logging, and guardrails are defined before approval.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in cloud cyber defense and advise executive leadership on cloud security matters.
  • Train and mentor junior team members.
  • Draft business-level presentations to gain executive and stakeholder support for cloud cyber defense initiatives.
  • Develop policies, technical standards, and other foundational documentation.
  • Support regulatory and audit initiatives by validating cloud security controls, collecting evidence, and aligning with Service Organization Control 2, Payment Card Industry, Health Information Trust Alliance, and Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program frameworks.
