- Three to five years of experience with the Lightning Web Component framework, Apex, Salesforce Object Query Language, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience building custom Lightning Web Components for Experience Sites, including standard Lightning Web Components and the Salesforce Lightning Design System.
- Strong understanding of the Salesforce security model.
- Ability to take direction effectively and work collaboratively and autonomously.
- Willingness to work as part of a volunteer team governed by consensus and to partner with teams experiencing frequent change and process redefinition.
- Ability to commit to at least six hours per week, including attendance at a weekly team meeting currently held at 6:15 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursdays.
- Develop Apex classes and triggers, Lightning Components, and Visualforce to extend Salesforce and support business requirements.
- Develop basic Visualforce pages, Lightning pages, and Lightning Web Components.
- Assist with each release cycle to implement and deploy new and updated applications and code.
- Work with integrated applications such as DocuSign and Mailchimp.
- Perform unit and system testing and debugging.
- Apply coding best practices and maintain data quality.
- Contribute to technical documentation.
- Experience with Enhanced Lightning Web Runtime Experience Sites and guest user security.
JerseySTEM runs hands-on, project-based STEM programs for underrepresented middle school girls in New Jersey. Through partnerships with corporate sponsors, youth organizations, and college volunteers, it delivers experiences like robotics and climate action projects that build critical thinking, teamwork, problem-solving, and self-esteem. Programs are designed and carried out in collaboration with sponsors and partner groups, ensuring access to STEM learning in community settings. JerseySTEM differentiates itself by specifically serving NJ girls at the middle-school level through a grassroots, nonprofit model that links classroom experiences with real-world applications and corporate sponsorships to expand the talent pipeline. Its goal is to reach 2,600 girls by 2026, empowering them with tools and knowledge to pursue STEM futures and contribute to a diverse, inclusive field.
