Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- At least one year of experience in general maintenance, woodwork or carpentry, plumbing, and/or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning is required.
- Working knowledge of boilers; heating and air conditioning units; refrigeration and freezers; ice machines; electrical wiring; plumbing; painting; and drywall work is required.
- Must be able to operate hand and power tools and read blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
- Must be willing to perform duties inside and outside of the facility and move heavy objects.
- Must be able to follow written or oral instructions and operate a tablet.
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse work group.
- Must be able and willing to assist residents while upholding the organization's core values.
Responsibilities
- Perform upkeep, repair, installation, restoration, refurbishment, and support activities for plumbing, electrical, appliances, kitchen equipment, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, woodwork or carpentry, general maintenance, and miscellaneous service work for all buildings.
- Manage personal work requests, communicate work activity details with residents and staff, and record work activities within the work order system.
- Maintain assigned supply levels and order tools, stock, and inventory as needed and requested.
- Maintain awareness of safety-related conditions and immediately report or repair those conditions.
- Perform other assigned duties, including activities that enhance the resident experience.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation for emergency issues one week at a time from Monday through Sunday.
