Requirements
  • The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Anthropology or a related field.
  • The candidate will have an ongoing or developing program of research.
  • The candidate will have evidence of potential or experience in teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses.
  • The candidate will have mentoring experience with students at both graduate and undergraduate levels.
  • The candidate will have a record of publishing in highly respected journals, edited volumes, and other strong outlets.
  • The candidate will have experience applying for external research grants.
  • The candidate will provide service to the university, department, and discipline.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a productive research program demonstrated through publication in respected journals, edited volumes, and other strong outlets.
  • Seek external funding through competitive grants.
  • Teach a range of graduate and undergraduate courses.
  • Mentor students at both graduate and undergraduate levels.
  • Contribute to departmental and university operations as an engaged citizen.
  • Provide service to the discipline.
Desired Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will be able to strengthen research and teaching collaborations with colleagues both within and beyond the department (e.g., the College of Medicine, College of Dentistry, and Department of Ecology and Organismal Biology).
  • Teach graduate-level statistics, and demonstrate the potential to make a significant positive impact on the field of biological anthropology.
