Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional engineering experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTurn, Deltek, BlueBeam Revu, and other applicable design software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence and digital tools for daily timesheet data entry.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screenings.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the design, coordination, and delivery of engineering construction documentation, specifications, and details across multiple complex projects.
  • Manage production teams by assigning tasks, balancing workloads, and ensuring productivity and quality of work.
  • Manage the full project lifecycle from planning and design through construction documentation and administration while maintaining alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Discipline Leads on project budgeting, scheduling, staffing forecasts, and proposal development.
  • Provide expert guidance on design, code compliance, and technical problem-solving, including the implementation of Quality Management Programs and quality assurance reviews.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between internal teams, clients, consultants, and authorities having jurisdiction to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Interpret and apply company, client, and jurisdictional standards and applicable codes to ensure designs meet professional, legal, and safety obligations.
  • Perform or coordinate site visits, field measurements, and construction observations to validate existing conditions and support construction administration.
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and consistency.
  • Lead internal and external meetings, document decisions, and communicate project goals and updates to clients and senior leadership.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support direct reports to foster professional growth and collaboration.
Desired Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering examination and certification as an Engineer in Training with a state licensure board.
  • Professional Engineer licensure.

EPS' business director to join school consultant company CESO

Jason Mutzenberger, executive director of business services for the past nine-plus years at Eden Prairie Schools (EPS), is leaving the district to join the Center for Effective School Operations (CESO), a Minneapolis-based consulting firm that provides operational support services to more than 230 school districts in the U.S. and Canada.

My Website is a Mess… Where Do I Even Start?

Despite some challenges, both website launches went great and Ceso even won NSPRA awards and a Finalsite Double Diamond Award, but I definitely swore off ever doing a new website again after each launch.
