Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2-4 years of applicable product inspection experience.
  • Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and intermediate mathematics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Qualified status using multiple precision inspection tools in the assigned area, including micrometers, calipers, microscopes, Federal gauges, Styre, Talyrond 73, fluorescent penetrant inspection, video scopes, and lighting equipment.
  • Ability to perform detail-oriented tasks using basic language and proficient mathematics.
Responsibilities
  • Perform visual and measurement inspection tests using complex measuring equipment, including Zeiss or Mitutoyo coordinate measuring machines, Smartscope, or RAM.
  • Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, comparators, master gauge blocks, indicators, surface gauges, surface plates, and sine bars, to accept or reject parts.
  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, coordinating rework, and ensuring quality products are released to customers.
  • Read and interpret complex technical drawings and apply tight tolerances during part inspection.
  • Input and analyze statistical data using Infinity or other statistical process control software and document quality inspection data.
  • Operate inspection equipment when applicable, troubleshoot quality issues, and report issues to leadership.
  • Serve as a go-to resource for quality control inspection procedures and train other employees as required.
  • Conduct training classes on inspection tools and equipment, processes, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and technical drawings.
  • Perform analytical tests using instrumentation and equipment and complete measurement calculations as needed.
  • Direct department inspectors at the request of a team lead or supervisor during the leader's absence.
  • Perform internal audits according to company and customer quality control standards.
  • Assist in any assigned quality control areas and work required shifts and days.
