Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university and 3+ years of work experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
  • United States citizenship is required due to the federal nature of the work.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a Department of Energy L clearance; candidates with active L clearance or Secret clearance are highly desired.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software.
  • Experience with Model Based Design and experience with Design for Manufacturability.
  • Experience implementing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing into designs.
  • Ability to review, understand, and apply relevant engineering codes and standards (e.g. ASME, AWS).
  • Experience supporting design reviews and technical interchanges with Suppliers.
  • Experience with machining and all forms of welding processes across design and production.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and make recommendations to senior project personnel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers across multiple locations.
  • Review and disposition supplier mechanical design submittals to validate designs based on technical requirements.
  • Interface with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are satisfied.
  • Understand ASME Y14.5 Geometric Tolerancing principles.
Desired Qualifications
  • Active DOE "L" clearance or DoD "Secret" clearance, highly desired (Or higher clearances ).
