  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
  • 5 - 10 years experience as a data engineer with a focus on modeling, SQL, NoSQL, and system architecture
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience with data processing frameworks
  • Experience with code reviews, version control, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Previous experience in a senior or lead data engineering role
  • Understanding of data governance and compliance
Responsibilities
  • Evolving our infrastructure, patterns and tooling with a specific focus on high throughput, reliable and idempotent pipelines
  • Ensuring the business receives, processes, transmits high quality data which will underpin all data science and reporting needs
  • Design and own the data models for the product application as well as analytical models
  • Design and own the build and maintenance of efficient and scalable data models to meet business requirements (product application & analytical)
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and drive alignment with business objectives
  • Architect and build robust and scalable data systems to support the organization's growth
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies for different components of the data infrastructure
  • Establish and enforce data engineering standards, coding conventions, and best practices
  • Play a key role in establishing a data governance framework and committee to enable and empower the organization in leveraging data assets; in adherence with industry regulations
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines built on top of variations of python & SQL
  • Create clear and comprehensive documentation, including data models, architecture diagrams, and data workflows
  • Mentor members of the data engineering team and provide guidance on best practices
