Platform Engineer

Dark Wolf Solutions is seeking a Platform Engineer to be an integral part of a collaborative team supporting USSOCOM Special Operations Forces Mission Program by providing cloud migration solutions, including application assessment, security requirement identification (IaaS vs. PaaS, bring-your-own-ATO, control inheritance), and architecture recommendations, resulting in seamless migrations. Platform Engineers will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to complete successful cloud-to-cloud migrations and are currently consulting on hardware-to-cloud migrations. The successful candidate will be comfortable in and have previous experience in Agile development, DevSecOps, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), data engineering, and cybersecurity environments. The candidate will be located in Tampa, FL and expected to be on-site at a customer location in a hybrid capacity. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Designing and deploying infrastructure solutions for the organization.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, networks, and other related technologies.
• Developing and maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Monitoring and maintaining system security, including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
• Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
• Ensuring system performance and availability.
• Collaborating with other teams to develop and implement technical solutions.
• Automating repetitive tasks to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
• Documenting infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends. 
• Configuring, building, and deploying applications into a cloud environment (AWS, Jenkins, Git, Artifactory).

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree; or in lieu of degree, 3 years of equivalent industry experience. 
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering or a related field. 
• Proficiency in networking, operating systems, and server hardware. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 
• Experience with cloud computing and virtualization technologies.
• Familiarity with scripting languages and automation tools. 
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
• Solid understanding of source control systems (Git). 
• US Citizenship and a Top Secret Security clearance. 

Desired Qualifications:

• Industry certifications, such as CCNA, MCSE, or AWS, are a plus.
