Foundation Risk Partners, one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage and consulting firms in the US, is adding an Employee Benefits Account Manager to their Van Popering Insurance team in the Charlotte Metro Region.
Job Summary:
The Benefits Account Manager is responsible for daily servicing of assigned clients including new and renewal business processing and maintenance of exceptional customer relations with the client. They also support the Producer assigned to them when needed. This position regularly interacts with new and existing clients as needed while being responsible for devising creative solutions to meet client needs as to coverage and costs.
Essential Functions:
• Uses experience, discretion, and independent judgment to conceptualize and implement solutions to meet client needs as to coverage and costs
• Manages, initiates, and prepares the process of renewal submissions for marketing which includes claims review, carrier options, quoting alternate plans/rates, preparation, and presentation of the alternates for consideration by creating plan comparison spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel
• Collects and analyzes client information and general coverage questions while regularly interacting with clients in a professional and timely manner
• Assists the producers with new and existing clients as needed
• Preparing a submission to proposing and binding coverage as needed
• Reviews processed policies as needed prior to releasing to the client
• Reviews Employer Application contracts and all onboarding documents
• Negotiates products and pricing on behalf of the company and clients
• Coordinates, prepares materials for, and manages process of Open Enrollment for clients, including enrollment census submissions using Excel
• Assists the producers with new business marketing – reviewing applications, submitting to carriers for quoting, reviewing proposals
• Participates in marketing and sales meetings
• Checks policies and all benefits for accuracy before delivery
• Provides training and mentoring to assistant account managers
• Reviews, retains, and services existing book of business
• Reviews and processes renewals, new policies, and policy changes
• Handles questions, researches, and resolves problems and issues
• Reviews account reconciliations for accuracy and payment
• Reviews, maintains, and verifies client billings/invoices
• Assists employers and employees with claims questions, issues, and processes
Competencies & Qualifications:
• Ability to take direction when needed
• Possess strong organizational, negotiating, multitasking, detail oriented, and prioritization skills
• Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis in Excel, Adobe Pro, and insurance agency management software (EPIC)
• Ability to choose the right mathematical method or formula to solve a problem
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths, and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to a problem
• Ability to analyze and evaluate results to choose the best solutions and solve problems on complex issues
• Ability to handle stress of short time constraints
• Experience using enrollment platforms, including Employee Navigator, or the ability to learn new software and continually improve through trainings or self-study
Education & Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• State required insurance license (2-15 or 2-40)
• Some college helpful
• 3+ years’ experience with insurance specifically benefits
