Position Description:

Alcon is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Alcon IT Enterprise Software & Applications Team. This individual will be given exposure and opportunities relative to the preparation of strategic plans that are catered to senior executives. The candidate will support with preparation of executive presentations that support key metrics, initiatives, and roadmaps for strategy execution.

Responsibilities may include:

• Assist in the preparation of the strategic plan and financial plans for a 5-year rolling period.
• Prepare executive presentations to support key metrics, initiatives, and roadmaps for strategy execution within the Enterprise Software and Applications Team (Alcon IT).
• Work/assist in the preparation of monthly PMO analysis reporting, developing new reports, presentations, KPIs/metrics for financial value derived from various business/IT projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data to support strategic and financial planning efforts.
• Participate in the development of recommendations and implementation plans for the successful execution of the strategic plan.
• Utilize data analysis techniques to identify trends and patterns that impact the company’s strategic and financial goals.
• Communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders and executive leadership.
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in strategic and financial planning.

Minimum Qualifications:  

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to internship or co-op, and at least one additional semester following internship or co-op.
• Must be pursuing at least a Bachelors level degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related major.
• Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0
• Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects)
• Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated)
• Ability to commit to a 10-12 week, full time (40 hours per week) summer internship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Pursing MBA, or Bachelors with prior demonstrated experience (internship, projects, etc).
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to manipulate large data sets using Excel techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
