We are seeking a talented and passionate Mid-level Gift Officer to join our team in Texas or Oklahoma. As a key member of our Ministry Advancement team, you will play a vital role in encouraging givers to discover the principles of biblical stewardship, promoting greater mission and ministry depth through the local church and our organization.

As a Mid-level Gift Officer, you will be responsible for cultivating and nurturing relationships with 400 to 800 current and potential givers within your assigned portfolio. You will work closely with these individuals to develop and implement meaningful gift strategies that align with our mission and values. Your expertise will help us establish and document deferred gifts, including beneficiary designations, life-income gift arrangements, and other giving options.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with current and potential givers, involving them in meaningful gift strategy discussions
- Partner with Major Gift Officers to establish and document deferred gifts and other giving options
- Maintain and guide relationships along an established moves-management plan, aligned with the gift cycle
- Record and update constituent activity in our Ministry Advancement database
- Stay up-to-date on relationship-based fundraising, CRM tools, giving trends, and philanthropy best practices
- Grow in your understanding of missiological practices, peer institution development, and strategic giving opportunities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, preferred
- At least 1-3 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field, with a proven track record of success in building and maintaining relationships
- Understanding of SBC denominational culture and church life
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with donors and colleagues
- Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective gift strategies
- Proficient in CRM software and database management, with the ability to accurately record and update constituent activity
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of self-motivation and discipline
- Strong knowledge of philanthropy, ethics, and giving trends, with a commitment to staying up-to-date on best practices in fundraising
- Passion for the mission and values of the organization, with a commitment to promoting biblical stewardship and supporting the local church
- Strong biblical foundation and understanding of missiological practices
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- High level of integrity, with a strong commitment to ethics and professionalism
