Job Description

We are looking for a graduating senior to join Alphataraxia as a Software Engineer. In this role, you will help design, build, and improve the proprietary systems that form the backbone of our business—creating sophisticated data pipelines, building scalable infrastructure solutions, and designing full-stack web apps to support our investment analysts.

As a new graduate, you’ll have the opportunity to work across data engineering, infrastructure, and software development. You’ll gain exposure to high-value projects early on, contributing to production systems while developing strong technical and problem-solving skills. We’re looking for individuals who are curious, eager to learn, and excited to collaborate on meaningful challenges at the intersection of technology and energy markets.

You will:

• Develop, test, and maintain proprietary, distributed software systems that serve as the foundation of our internal development platform
• Contribute to the design and implementation of reliable data pipelines and engineering workflows
• Debug and troubleshoot software and system issues, proposing creative solutions
• Collaborate closely with investment analysts and other engineers to transform prototyped analysis tools into robust, high-value software products
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to building best practices for our engineering team
• Lead discussions about software design, gather user requirements, and participate in project planning

Applicant requirements

• A strong academic record and high technical aptitude. Background or major in Computer Science or a related technical field is required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Enthusiasm for supporting and helping teammates.
• An ability to work in person on a hybrid schedule (three days per week in-office) in our DC office.
• A 3.5 minimum GPA
