Requirements
  • A California teaching credential in the assigned subject area(s) and a valid English Learner Authorization are required.
  • Applicants who will hold any of the following credentials by their start date are welcome to apply: California Single Subject Credential in Art (Clear or Preliminary); California University or District Intern Credential in Art; Equivalent Out-of-State Credential transferring to California; Note: If you do not yet hold a California-equivalent English Learner Authorization, you may qualify for a temporary permit while transferring your credential.
  • For Middle School only: California Multiple Subject or Single Subject Credential with an Introductory Supplementary Authorization in Art.
  • Applicants will be required to provide a copy of the credential, or, if in progress, a status letter from their credential program.
  • Bachelor’s Degree: Applicants without a credential will be required to provide a copy of their transcript for evaluation to determine eligibility for an emergency teaching permit.
  • Applicants without a current credential or a verifiable pathway toward obtaining a California teaching credential will not be considered.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a positive, achievement-oriented, supportive, and collaborative culture of high expectations that motivates and inspires scholars to learn at college-preparatory levels.
  • Effectively execute assigned curriculum and just-in-time supports to reach every scholar, regardless of prior academic background, disability, or English language fluency.
  • Engage in internalizing assigned curriculum, tied to specific grade level and content standards, in teacher teams and individually to prepare daily lesson plans, instructional materials, and exit tickets aligned to rigorous college-ready standards.
  • Use exit tickets, unit tests, interim exams, and other assessment data to determine differentiated re-teaching needed to advance all scholars toward demonstrating mastery.
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure that all scholars receive the appropriate support, including the accommodations they need to successfully access grade-level content.
  • Provide all scholars opportunities aligned with Alliance’s College-Ready Graduate Profile.
  • Create a coherent and supportive classroom culture to support scholar engagement, learning, and well-being.
  • Support Alliance’s aspiration to prepare all scholars for college, with 75% or more completing a four-year college degree.
  • Seek opportunities to build strong and collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, families, scholars, and alumni.
