Full Stack Java Developer
We are looking for a Full Stack Java Developer to join the investment risk technology team at an investment bank.
The team is within dynamic group which pools together architecture, infrastructure, engineering, operations and development into a single function. The successful applicant will work in a diverse team which includes front end and back-end developers and QA testers. Members on the team have direct access to the business users and must be able to juggle multiple priorities at a given time. The candidate needs to be a self-starter, smart, and a highly motivated team player with effective communication skills. In addition, the candidate must value producing quality software and have a solid grounding in computer science fundamentals. We would need someone who can assume responsibility for projects within the system. Their goal will be to clarify business requirements, and ensure consistent, clean code is implemented with timely delivery. The right candidate should enjoy working in a highly collaborative environment that values teamwork and offers a lot of flexibility as long as productivity and quality is there.
Key Tasks:
- Full stack development, working in an agile environment, swiftly switching priorities depending on urgencies.
- Working closely with the team to create seamless integration and results.
- Taking ownership of tasks and project, done to completion until features are fully deployed.
Tech Stack & Skills Required:
- Angular / React framework for UI development.
- Java 8+ programming experience - ideally including class loading, garbage collection, Java collections API, Reflections API, Java 8 Streams and Functional Programming
- Spring /Spring Boot frameworks
- Technical Design, Problem Solving and debugging skills
- Experience in either Github, Jenkins or Ansible, etc.
- Experience with Relational DB’s (SQL/ Postgres or Oracle)
- Cloud experience, Dockers and Kubernetes (all desirable, not required for role)
- CI/CD concepts, experience setting up pipelines (desirable, not required for role)
