Requirements
  • A master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in IT systems administration, learning management system management, or web development, with demonstrated expertise managing learning technologies, system integrations, or web platforms.
  • At least three years of experience in teaching and/or curriculum development, including experience with online, hybrid, and face-to-face instruction.
  • Experience developing and facilitating instructor-led and self-paced training.
  • Experience developing training and professional development programs for diverse audiences.
  • Advanced knowledge of instructional design principles, Universal Design for Learning, and curriculum and training design best practices.
  • Working knowledge of ADA and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines accessibility standards, with the ability to create accessible instructional materials and remediate inaccessible documents.
  • Technical proficiency with one or more learning management system platforms, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
  • Experience providing end-user technical support and troubleshooting learning management system and classroom instructional technology issues.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with online meeting and collaboration platforms such as Kaltura Classroom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar technologies.
  • Working knowledge of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning.
  • Commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and equitable practices in educational technology.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States at the time of hire without requiring visa sponsorship from the College.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with faculty to design and develop engaging, effective online and hybrid courses aligned with the College's academic goals and recognized standards for high-quality online learning.
  • Consult with faculty on instructional design, pedagogy, and the effective use of educational technologies to enhance student learning.
  • Support faculty in designing and developing instructional materials, videos, course modules, and other learning resources for online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses.
  • Incorporate emerging technologies, including generative artificial intelligence, into course design and pedagogy.
  • Support faculty in applying accessibility, inclusion, and Universal Design for Learning principles to course content, design, and delivery.
  • Develop instructor-led and online training materials, including participant materials, facilitator guides, train-the-trainer materials, online training courses, videos, and web conferences for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Research and evaluate emerging instructional technologies, tools, and best practices in higher education and recommend improvements based on institutional needs and student learning outcomes.
  • Participate in professional development to remain current with instructional technology, learning management system platforms, accessibility standards, artificial intelligence, and higher education trends.
  • Conduct training needs assessments and evaluate training program effectiveness.
  • Develop and recommend new training programs and improvements to existing programs based on identified needs and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, instructional designers, instructional technologists, information technology personnel, and other stakeholders to develop learning solutions aligned with institutional goals.
  • Share responsibility with the Director for administration, management, maintenance, and support of the College's learning management system.
  • Configure the learning management system and manage user access, course information, and related systems.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for faculty, staff, and students experiencing learning management system issues.
  • Develop and maintain learning management system documentation, resources, and user support materials.
  • Create and monitor vendor helpdesk requests and coordinate with vendors to resolve technical issues.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers, instructional technologists, information technology staff, faculty, and other stakeholders to integrate tools and features that enhance teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal information technology teams on system upgrades, integrations, and compatibility with existing and emerging technologies.
  • Manage the integration of multimedia and interactive elements within the learning management system.
  • Generate, analyze, and distribute reports related to learning management system usage, course completion, and other relevant metrics to support academic and operational decision-making.
  • Assist with periodic learning management system reviews to ensure compliance with institutional policies, data security standards, accessibility requirements, and applicable regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of student records and other protected information.
  • Assist with implementing and evaluating new learning management system features, tools, integrations, and functionality.
  • Assist with training and supervising student workers who provide classroom hardware troubleshooting and support for Crestron systems.
  • Collaborate with ITRC staff to diagnose and resolve instructional technology hardware issues.
  • Assist with training users of the recording studio and support the maintenance of recording studio equipment, lightboards, and related technology.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of instructional technology equipment located in academic spaces.
  • Assist with ensuring classroom and online instructional technology is maintained and functioning properly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience administering Blackboard Ultra.
  • Experience with Learning Tools Interoperability 1.3 integrations.
  • Experience working with application programming interfaces and data synchronization between a learning management system and other internal or external platforms.
  • Knowledge of information technology security practices and applicable regulations, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, General Data Protection Regulation, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
  • Experience maintaining or enforcing security policies designed to protect data and systems.
  • Familiarity with HyperText Markup Language.
  • Experience with Kaltura or other video management platforms.
  • International Association of Accessibility Professionals certification, such as Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies or Accessible Document Specialist.
  • Experience supporting instructional technology and classroom technology systems, including Crestron.
  • Experience with recording studios, lightboards, multimedia systems, or related instructional technology.
